We (Dean & Pedro) met as Admissions Counselors for Bates College in 1993. We learned the process from the inside. As our careers evolved, we remained focused on developing people for the past thirty+ years and have reunited to create True North College Advisors.

  We will take an interest in you, the student, first and then work to help you define and achieve your college goals.  We will help demystify an unnecessarily complex college application landscape and empower students to take control of their futures.

  The college search is a unique experience that challenges teenagers to know themselves and make difficult decisions. We will give individual attention, ask questions, listen carefully, and help craft a personal narrative that delivers the best outcomes.

This is the time to build "your story".

A family meeting and quarterly check-ins to discuss course selection, extracurricular activities, and programs that can best position you for future success.

The most important year of your college search: In bi-weekly meetings, we hone your personal story, implement a standardized testing plan, create a college list, and solicit teacher recommendations.

The culmination of your efforts is crafted into a story to share with the schools on your list. 

We guide you and your family through every part of the application process, keeping all focused and informed.
